The Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur or PACA region is one of the 13 metropolitan French regions. It is located in the south of France, east of the Rhone river, with a long coastline overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
Its area is 31,400 km2 and its population more than 5,000,000 inhabitants.
The capital of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region is Marseille and the main cities are Aix-en-Provence, Avignon, Cannes, Gap, Digne-les-Bains, Nice, Toulon.
